I grew up in rugged Alaska as a voracious reader, devouring any book that came my way. This passion for literature followed me to Yale University, where I pursued a Bachelor's degree in English. I studied under award-winning authors, such as Caryl Phillips, John Crowley, and Nalini Jones. Alongside my classes, I worked for the Yale Daily News as a Copy Editor, assisted with workshops for the Yale Literary Magazine, and wrote and directed plays for the Yale Children's Theater.
Writing and editing are my two greatest passions, and I was fortunate enough to be accepted to the Columbia Publishing Course, where I extensively studied the publishing industry. Following this program, I worked in children's editorial for Bloomsbury Publishing, gaining firsthand line and developmental editing experience. A fellow publishing contact recognized my passion for and skill with editing, and offered me a freelance editing opportunity. As freelance editing was my dream, I applied for a business license that very day and have been working under that heading ever since.
My novel editing experience includes New York Times bestselling authors ranging from picture books to new adult and everything in between. I have also had the wonderful opportunity to shape websites and suggest edits for menus. I thank you for your interest, and I look forward to helping you achieve your dream.
